Crochet Mesh Detail Halter Top

Hey everyone! Welcome once again to my little part of the world wide web! I'm so excited to share with you this centre mesh detail halter top pattern. It's super easy to follow and would even suit a beginner crochet lover.
When I made this top I used a very lightweight yarn (weight 2 or fingering) but if I were to go back in time I would definitely choose a weight 3 or dk yarn. I just found the lighter weight yarn to not have as much support. For reference I used Anna and Clara's fingering weight cotton.

You can find the youtube tutorial here

Materials needed:
Any weight 3 cotton yarn.
3mm crochet hook.

Notes:

The crochet terms used in this pattern and all my other patterns are in American crochet terms.

This pattern will fit a size small/medium. If you want to make the halter top bigger/smaller just make a chain long enough to reach from one side of torso to the other side. Make sure that number is divisible by 2 and then add an extra 2 chains.

The Pattern:

Chain 78. Double crochet into the 3rd chain from the hook. Double crochet to end of row. Turn. Place marker in the 39th stitch. This is your centre stitch so whatever length of chain you made as your foundation divide that number by 2 and add an extra stitch for the centre.

Chain 2 (counts as 1st double crochet), then double crochet into the next 32 stitches. If you have a different number to begin with just make sure there are 5 unworked stitches between the stitch marker and the last double crochet worked. Refer to the photo below

Next you (ch1, skip 1, dc into the next) 6 times. You will now have 6 boxes.

Continue with regular double crochets to the end of the row. Turn.

Chain 2, double crochet until you reach the double crochet before the 1st box. (Chain 1, then double crochet on top of the double crochet from previous row) 6 times. Double crochet to the end of the row. Turn. Repeat this row until you have a total of 10 rows.

Chain 2, the dc2tog, then double crochet until you reach the double crochet before the box. (ch1, then double crochet on top the double crochet from the previous row) 6 times. Then continue with your regular double crochets until 3 stitches remain. Dc2tog, and double crochet into the last stitch (on top of the ch 2). Repeat this row 22 more times.

Now you are going to single crochet all the way around the top to clean up the edges.

For the straps, just attach yarn to one of the corners and chain 100-150. Repeat for the other three corners.

Weave in any loose ends and you are now ready to go!
